Prayer For:
being assured
we believe that despite the enmity that sin created and separated us from God, he has made a way of redemption through jesus as the christ for us to have our sins forgiven and be seen by him as being righteous by our faith in jesus.
and, since this can only be achieved by faith Ephesians 2:8 we believe, like the apostles, disciples and all followers of jesus, in helping those whom he has already convicted of sin (by his holy spirit) John 6:44 and drawn to repentance by knowing they are in need of a savior.
anytime, anywhere no matter how bad or good a person you are we can all be rest assured that we are saved by acknowledging John 3:16 to be true and acting on Romans 10:9-10 personally to be saved. - It is simply a decision and not something we must do or perform first. Ephesians 2:8
while we also believe that no prayer, alter call, going forward and/or raising your hand (strong amens to the invitation to be saved) can save anyone in and by itself...we do see it as a perfectly sound way towards helping someone reach out to god through their hope in jesus christ by helping them make the greatest decision they will ever make.
it is not for us leading anyone to the salvation to know their heart, only god can discern that, but as servants it is our utmost privilege to be able to help those reach the truth of salvation by any path to Romans 10:9-10 the holy spirit chooses to use.
whether you have already made the decision to choose Jesus as yoru savior at one time in your life or are feeling the need to do so now, you can measure the need to do so by asking yourself the following 3 questions as to where you believe the current status of your soul to be right now:
...if your heart stopped beating today, where would your soul go to spend eternity?
...if 3. you don't know, then the bible says you are lost and in need of a savior.
Proverbs 23:7 | 1 John 5:20 | John 10:10
The "Good News" Is John 3:16 you can make that decision today! right now by Faith Ephesians 2:8 where you are as your reading this by just acting on Romans 10:9-10 in any way you feel you can cover that scripture by confessing it and believing it.
...or you can pray the prayer below in agreement to the same:
to be prayed in agreement
father in heaven, I know that without jesus I am lost and on my way to hell. but I don't want to die and go to hell. I believe that you sent jesus to die in my place. and that he rose agin from the dead that i might have eternal life. Dear jesus, I'm asking you to come into my life right now and save me, as I am, with all my faults and all my hangups and forgive me of all my sins and save my soul. And I will live the rest of my life for you...Amen!
now, if you've prayed that prayer in earnest, your saved! but don't take our words for it embrace God's "Proof-Of-Purchase" scripture found in Romans 10:9-10 that says so and...
...we believe that your now "born-again" and on your way to a new life in christ John 3:3 so go out and tell someone (the 1st half of Romans 10:9) that your saved because you made Jesus Christ your lord & savior! And know that your decision causing quite the party in heaven. Luke 15:7
finally, may we also suggest the following:
we believe that the bible clearly reveals that obtaining eternal life (often referred to as being saved ) is far easier than most modern teachers and preachers of the bible are either willing to admit, or sadly in some cases, downright opposing the clear an very easily obtained salvation by simply believing John 3:16 and acting in faith on Romans 10:9-10.
starting with the apostles, his disciples and moving onto the blind, lame and people of promiscuous reputations he encountered, he always first offered them eternal life by way of simply believing in him. who he was, why he came and what he soon would do to wipe away their sins by suffering and dying on the cross and being resurrected back to life by god the father.
After Jesus ascended into heaven and the church age began to expand and grow exponentially by way of the simple preaching of the gospel John3:16 of who jesus is and why we need him for the forgivness of our sins.
...when peter preached under the unction of the holy spirit out of the upper room (at pentecost) and 3,000 were saved Acts 2:37-38 it clearly reveals that we first must be saved THEN taught the word of god. Acts 2:41-42 and again when paul preached and taught how to be saved out of his letter to the Corinthians. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
as for requiring repentance (often mentioned in many salvation centered scriptures), i believe the mere fact that a person realizes they are lost already before coming to believe and request Jesus as their savior, then wanting to do so is in and of itself an act of REPENTANCE by anyone realizing without Jesus they are lost and on their way to hell.
REPENTANCE: 1. to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life 2. a : to feel regret or contrition b : to change one's mind.
to teach that we must first repent of our sins BEFORE coming to Christ to receive salvation is not scriptural. In fact I believe that would then place the qualification of being saved on the person instead of what Christ accomplished for ALL on the cross. and smacks of still trying to keep the law ( another name and practice of salvation by good deeds ) which the bible clearly states that no man can do. Ephesians 2:8
without willingly receiving the life saving eternal knowledge of knowing jesus as our lord and savior we cannot repent of sin. and, quite literally will still struggle afterwards to do so completely. However, the difference being, that after we receive Christ as our savior we now have an advocate to the father, jesus christ the righteous and the power of his grace to turn from sin. 1 John 2:1 - 1 John 1:9 until we accept christ as our savior Romans 10:9-10 he cannot forgive us of our sins.
like wise effective teaching, preaching and being discipled can only be done AFTER we have been "Born-Again" John 3:3 and saved by the blood of jesus through acknowledging him as god and asking him to save us. Romans 10:9
so, while their is much for us to change and do about our lives after receiving the blessed assurance that we are saved and on our way to heaven, the first step is the easiest one. we must all come to the self realization that without christ sacrifice and resurrection we are all lost and headed for hell . but by grace, through faith in what he made possible for ALL on calvary's cross we can be saved. it is simply by Faith alone that we are saved and not that of ourselves. Ephesians 2:8
